advance reading copy

Designed the advance reading copies for all three Kalynn Bayron's books (temp cover when needed, back covers, interior layout design, and special "fancy" features like belly bands),  distributed to media outlets, such as The New York Times Book Review, Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews; relevant librarians and selected influencers for reviews to generate book buzz and increase sales. These copies were also distributed in relevant events like ComicCon, BookCon, etc. I came up with the design for the interior, back cover, relevant fonts, etc. Prepared files to print.

Worked on the design of the advance reading copies, print materials, promotional items and creative. Also worked on the advertising campaigns, from concept to execution, of her debut novel Cinderella is Dead and her branded This Poison Heart series.
For all these I was in charge of the marketing design direction and maintenance of a consistent brand, style, and art direction across every marketing and publicity campaign. 

Below there are the different (and my personal favorite) parts of these campaigns showcasing examples for each series.

Invite print

Illustrated and designed the print "invite" to promote the preorder of Cinderella is Dead. People who would preorder the book would also get a special invite. The design was meant to be clean regarding the layout and color, matching with the purple/violet colors and theme from the cover.

digital ad campaigns

I worked on several types of advertising for Bloomsbury's authors, including large scale print billboards and bus shelters displayed in different cities, in-store displays, ads displayed on digital media platforms, or print (and online) magazines or newspapers.

For Kalynn Bayron, I overviewed the design concept of all digital and print ad campaigns for all her books, for both pre-pub and post-pub campaigns. For her series/brand This Poison Heart I came up with the design and made sure it was consistent across ad campaigns: same style, color palette, fonts, etc.  We collaborated with media outlets like  GoodReads, Shelf Awareness, The Mary Sue, Division D and AdBiblio cross-platforms,  or BuzzFeed to successfully bring campaigns to life. Samples of these campaigns are showcased below.

enamel pin for preorder promotion

For Cinderella is Dead, we planned a preorder promotion to increase preorder sales and book awareness, specially because this was the author's debut novel, and a retelling of a Disney's movie. Therefore, we wanted to generate buzz showcasing as much as possible that it was a retelling of Cinderella. For this, I illustrated and designed the enamel pin that would be part of the pre-pub preorder promotion. Every reader who preordered the book got an exclusive enamel pin. This included creating digital creative to promote the preorder offer and pin. 

sale sheets & marketing materials

I designed sale sheets and marketing materials to distribute to book sellers, librarians and so on, following the book theme and consistent branded design of the series.

I was in charge of designing 100+ assets for social media (posts, stories, branded content) and e-blasts, for Kalynn Bayron books. Below there are some examples.

countdown for This Wicked Fate cover reveal

We planned a cover reveal & announcement of the second book of This Poison Heart series. We wanted to match the countdown with an illustration of one of the characters and one quote that character says in the book. For each day, one set was published between the author and Bloomsbury Publishing to generate buzz and anticipation. I was in charge of the design of this announcement.
